In keeping with the social aspect of Simeon ten Holt's Canto Ostinato we are thinking toward venues that also have a specific social, historical and/or architectural function. In addition, regular theaters remain an option.

The choice of locations for our performance contribute to the open, accessible feel of the performance and accentuate the idea that life flows through your veins. The locations should breathe space, so to speak. Because of the large number of instruments and their dimensions, we also literally need that space.

The acoustics of the space require attention. Gamelan is originally played in the open air, where the vibrations of the instruments can spread well and are not reflected. In many Western countries, however, the weather is a matter of uncertainty. Theaters all over the world have already proven to be good alternative venues for gamelan performances.

For spaces with many hard materials, such as stone and glass (which could cause sound mixing) we could consider some simple adjustments.
